Starner George Washington Starner, a life long resident of Sterners Station, Adams county, died at the home of his son, Clayton Starner, near Idaville, July 12, after an illness of a few days, aged 88 years, 11 months and 15 days. He was a member of Company B, 165th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers. Surviving are the following children, Peter Starner, of Idaville; Mrs. William Sweigert, of Mechanicsburg; Isaac Starner and Clayton Starner, of Idaville; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Lida Sowers, of Harrisburg; Jacob Starner, of Duncannon; Mrs. Mary Yohe, of Spring Grove. He also leaves twenty one grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was a veteran, a member of Co. B, 165th Pa. Regt. The funeral was on Tuesday, services by Rev. Smith, interment at Goodyear. He leaves the following children: Peter Starner, of Idaville; Mrs. William Sweigert, of Mechanicsburg; Isaac Starner and Clayton Starner, of Idaville. Two sisters and one brother survive, Mrs. Lida Sowers, of Harrisburg; Jacob Starner, of Duncannon; Mrs. Mary Yohe, of Spring Grove.
