All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/adams/ _______________________________________________ Mrs. Rebecca Sterner Mrs. Rebecca Sterner, widow of David Sterner, died at the home of her son, Charles Sterner, in Gettysburg, June 4th, from an attack of indigestion. She was one of the town’s oldest residents, having reached the age of 92 years, 9 months and 10 days. Mrs. Sterner was formerly Miss Rebecca Sheely, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Sheely, and was born near Littlestown. She was married to Mr. Sterner in 1850, and lived five years in Hanover, before going to Gettysburg, where she has since resided. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. John Huff, Table Rock. Mrs. Edward Elder, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Fred Thorn, David Sterner and Charles Sterner, Gettysburg, and Miss Emma Sterner, Harrisburg. One half-brother, Joseph Sheely, White Hall, also survives.
