He had not regained consciousness since being stricken. He was 69 years, 10 months and 14 days old. Three children, Mrs. Edith Boyer, Paradise township, and Miss Minerva, at home, and one brother, H. A. Trostle, Harrisburg, survive him. He was a retired farmer. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, April 1, 1916 [An obit also appeared in The Star And Sentinel on Tuesday, March 28, 1916. After brief services at the house the large funeral cortege proceeded to Mummert's meeting house where concluding services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Charles Baker. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. The pallbearers were: Emanuel Zepp, Enton Myers, George Ramer and Daniel Mummert. Dillsburg Weekly Bulletin, Friday, March 31, 1916
