Twoomey Dennis Maurice Twoomey, one of the oldest employees on this division of the Western Maryland railroad in point of service and well known citizen of Gettysburg died suddenly about 9 o’clock Saturday evening. Death was the direct result of nervous indigestion, although Mr. Twoomey had been confined to his home about two weeks by an attack of grippe. His age was 50 years. He was a son of the late Edward and Anastasia Twoomey and was born at Westminster, Md., Jan. 20, 1866. He resided there until he was five years of age, when his parents moved to Straban township, near Granite Hill. He worked upon the farm of his father until 17 years old, and was then appointed section foreman on the Western Maryland railroad at New Oxford. He held that position for two years when he was transferred to Gettysburg and has remained there since. On April 30, 1895, Mr. Twoomey was married to Miss Nora Ramer, a daughter of Mrs. Margaret Ramer and the late Francis S. Ramer, Gettysburg. She survives, together with two children, Miss Margaret Twoomey and Crotty Twoomey, both at home. Three sisters and a brother also survive: Mrs. Emory Rosensteel, Cumberland township; Mrs. Charles McMaster, Straban township; Mrs. Herman on the Western Maryland rail- James Twoomey, South Bend, Ind. Deceased was a consistent member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic church, Gettysburg. He was a charter member of the Hanover Council, Knights of Columbus, and belonged to the Conewago Beneficial Society, St. Francis Xavier Beneficial Society, Father Corby Council, P. C. B.
