Suicide in Almshouse

Using a small cloth and her apron to form a noose, Mrs. Calvin Wisler hanged 
herself from the bars of her room at the Adams county Home, Gettysburg, about 
midnight, Friday, June 16.

Mrs. Wisler, whose maiden name was Louisa Young, had been a patient at the Home 
at various times during the past five or six years and this last time has been 
there for about a year, suffering from melancholia.

She was aged about 63 years and leaves two children, Mrs. Roy Frey, of 
Lancaster, and Mrs. Caldwell, living in the West.  She also leaves two sisters 
and a brothers, Miss Mary Young and Miss Carrie Young, of Gettysburg, and 
William Young, of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
