Young, one of the most respected citizens of Buchanan Valley, died Tuesday of last week after a short illness of five days, of a complication of diseases. His aged was 72 years and 21 days. Deceased served as a soldier in the Civil War, having been mustered in at Gettysburg, October 16, 1862. He took part in number of engagements while in service. He was a member of Company G, 165th Regiment of Penna. Volunteers. Deceased was a consistent member of the Catholic church and was a very charitable man and kind neighbor and will be greatly missed by his family and neighbors. The funeral was held on Friday, Rev. Father Noel officiating at a High Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul. His body was interred in St. Ignatius’ cemetery. The pall-bearers were: Wesley Oyler, John Hall, Sr., Henry Kimple and Samuel Keiser. He leaves a wife, one daughter, Miss Rebecca; one sister, Miss Rebecca, at home and one brother, Edw.
