All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/adams/ _______________________________________________ Hayes-Hollinger At the home of the bride in Abbottstown at 5:45 o’clock Monday evening, Miss Mary Gitt Hollinger, daughter of Mrs. Martha Hollinger was married to Herbert Hayes, of Bristol, Va. Rev. Walter Garrett, pastor of the Reformed church officiated, using the ring ceremony. The bride wore an ivory satin gown with tulle veil, gathered with lilies of the valley and, carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses and lilies of the valley. Her attendants were Miss Frances Hollinger, a sister, and Miss Helen Snyder, of New Oxford. They work pink mescaline, and each carried a bouquet of Killarney roses. The groom was unattended. As the bridal party entered the parlor the wedding march from Lohengrin was played by Mrs. George W. Baker on the piano, and Miss Anna Gitt Baker on the violin, and following the ceremony “Love’s Old Sweet Song.” Immediately after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Hayes left by automobile for a wedding trip to Philadelphia, New York and Atlantic City.
