All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/adams/ _______________________________________________ Source: Will Book 1817-1826, Adams County, Pennsylvania, Pp. 122-123 Written: March 18, 1820 Recorded: April 5, 1820 The will of ABRAHAM FICKES found in WILL BOOK 1817-1826, ADAMS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, pp. 122-123 In the name of God Amen I ABRAHAM FICKES of Huntington township Adams County & State of Pennsylvania being weak in body but of sound mind & memory and understanding blessed be God for the same but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die Do make and publish this my last will & Testament in manner and form following to wit Principally & first of all I commend my soul into the hands of almighty god who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent & Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors here in after named and as to such worldly estate where with It Pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the manner following wit---I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife ROSANA all my households & kitchen furniture Including Beds beding clocks stove & pipes tables Chars & to be at her sole Disposal Except the Clocks & stove & pipe which after he decease is to be disposed off as herein after mentioned, I further will unto my wife ROSANA two milk cows her choice all the privilege of my dwelling house & Goods during her widowhood to have free Usage & possession. It is my will and desire that my son JACOB FICKES find & provide for my wife a sufficiant horse creature for her at any time she may want the same & further to provide yearly & every year Twelve Bushels of good Wheat for my wife he is also to deliver at her dwelling house One hundred weight of (Good Pork & fifty pounds of good beef in due killing time Also one third of all the Flax he shall raise on my my Plantation I now live on to be delivered to her after it is gathered likewise ___ of Good in sole One pair of new Shoes a sufficiency of fire wood cut and hauled to the door ready prepared for use I give & bequeath to my wife the sum of Twelve pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania yearly & every year all the aforesaid bequests & privileges granted to be performed by my Executor herein after named and at his sole Expense I further will & bequeath unto my oldest daughter PEGGY intermarried with JACOB WAINBRIGHT the sum of four hundred pounds lawful money aforesaid Three hundred whereof to be paid by my Executor Three years after my decease & the remaining one hundred pounds Three years after the decease of my wife ROSANA I also will & bequeath unto my daughter BETSY intermarried with GEORGE MYERS? the sum of Four Hundred pounds Three Hundred whereof to be paid six years after my decease and the remaining One hundred in two years thereafter to be paid as above mentioned. The said legacies to my daughters to be paid in notes & Bonds of such as shall be due at the time wherein the above legacies are specified to be paid. It is further my will that after the death of my wife ROSANA my son JACOB shall have the two cows & also the Clock & Stove & pipe I further give & bequeath unto my son JACOB FICKES after my decease all my real and personal property of whatsoever kind & ___ they may be excepting the household goods above mentioned which aregiven solely to my wife ROSANA & Lastly I nominate & appoint my son JACOB FICKES Executor of this my last will & Testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made declaring this & no other to be my last will & Testament and if any of my Children here in named sould be dissatisfied with my will aforesaid so as to Institute suits at law they are hereby barred from securing any part of the above recited? legacies & bequests.
