       Will 2926   { I John Hollebaugh of Union Township Adams County
        of         { & State of Pennsylvania do make & publish this my last
  John Hollebaugh  { Will & Testament have by revoking and making void all
                   { former wills by me at anytime made, and first I direct my 
body after my decease be directly intered in the burying ground at the 
direction of my friends in a manner corresponding with my Estate in Live, and 
as to Such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I dispose 
of in the manner following, first I direct that my just debts and funeral be 
paid as soon after my decease as possible out of any monies that shall come 
into the hands of my Administrator or executor from any portion of my Estate 
either real or Personal, and after payment thereof and every part there of I 
give and bequeath unto my Mother May Hollenbaugh the remainder of my Estate 
both real & personal to her & to her heirs forever ~~
In witness where of I John Hollenbaugh the Testator have to this my will 
written of Paper. Set my hand & Seal on this first day of [?March/May?] A.D. 
one thousand Eight Hundred and fifty one. ~~

                                    Before me A. Cobean Deputy Register for the 
probate of wills and granting letters of Administration in & for said County 
personally came Joseph Dysert[?] William Rittase & Samuel Black ~~  Witnesses 
to the foregoing Will and being duly sworn  according to law doth say that they 
were present & saw heard John Hollenbaugh the Testator sign Seal publish & 
declare the foregoing Instrument of writing as & for his last Will and 
Testament & that at the time of so doing he had perfect sound mind memory and 
understanding to the best of their knowledge & belief and that they Subscribed 
their names hereto as witnesses in his presence and at his request

MEMORANDUM
          Letters of Administration with the will ascribed were this day 
granted in due form of Law unto William Rittase Administrator of John 
Hollebaugh Dec[eased] An Inventory to be exhibited into the Registers Office at 
Gettysburg for the County of Adams within thirty days from the date hereof and 
a just and true acct. of his Administration within one year from this date or 
when thereunto legally required.~~
                Witness my hand this 26th day of July A.D. 1851

Additional Comments:
Nancy Gillette commented to me, in a recent email (FEB 2006), that John Hollobaugh 
committed suicide because he had facial cancer.
 
John is most likely the son of Christopher Hollebaugh (Jr). This transcription 
of the will of John Hollobaugh, dated the 1st day of [?March/May?] 1851, Union 
Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania - Will Book Vol. E = 1841-1851, page #483 
has no spelling corrections and words appear as written. If a word was 
unreadable or difficult to read question marks were placed in brackets after 
or in place of the word, examples: [?] [???].  ~JN
