Lebanon United Presbyterian Church. Tombstone Inscriptions ST. CLAIR CEMETERY - MT. LEBANON St. Clair Cemetery is located In Mt. Lebanon, Allegheny County on Scott Road, across the street from the Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church. Originally in St. Clair Township the church was the Associate Reformed Congregation of Saw Mill Run until the year of 1858 when it became the St. Clair United Presbyterian Church. The 2 1/2 acre for the cemetery and original church were given by Alexander and James Long who owned 800 acres along Scott Road. Before the church was built on this land the congregation met outdoors in the orchard of Nathaniel Plummer which was near Pioneer and West Liberty Ave. of today. His tombstone, together with the stones of his wife, daughter and son-in-law remain there in good condition with interesting inscriptions. Other stones date back to 1806. Many have fallen, been vandalized or are too weathered to be legible. Volume #6 of the Pennsylvania Genealogical Society Quarterly published a list of the old stones as copied in 1915, These are included in this list, identified by an * [asterisk]. This project was quite interesting. Boy Scout Troop #193 helped to read the tombstones as well as a few people with an interest in the Church History.
