Sworn and subscribed before me, this 1st DAY of OCTOBER A.D. 1849 DANL MCCURDY Clerk /s/ James Lowry Additional Comments: James' signature stared out as an "L" and then appears to drift off the bottom of the paper. He then added his last name. This is probably James Jr and he became Mayor of Pittsburgh 1864-1866. Family tradition holds that James Sr probably never filed a declaration.
