P. Conner, Esq., Register of Wills and Ex Officio Clerk of the Orphan's Court, in and for the County of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania. In the matter of the administration of the goods, chattels rights and credits of William Henry Milligan presumed to be dead. The petition of Frank Milligan respectfully represents: That William Henry Milligan was a resident of he City of Allegheny, in the County of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania. That he was a teamster and was employed for some considerable time by Fred Gwinner contractor of said City of Allegheney and County of Allegheny sometime about July 1886, petitioner cannot state the exact time) and from thence hitherto has been continuously absent from the City of Allegheny and County of Allegheny and petitioner supposes said William Henry Miligan to be dead on account of absence for seven or more years from said City of Allegheny and County of Allegheny, which was the place of his last domicile within this Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Petitioner has made inquiries as to what has become of said William Henry Milligan but all the information he has been able to gain is that he left, or disappeared from, the City of Allegheny and County of Allegheny about ten years ago. That said William Henry Milligan was a son of Robert Milligan who died prior to the year 1873 and Mary Ann Milligan who died sometime in January 1873. That up to that time he disappeared from the City of Allegheny and County of Allegheny he had never been married. On June 27, 1886, George Washington Milligan, eldest brother of said William Henry Milligan, died intestate, unmarried and without issue and left no estate [page 2] George Washington, to wit, sometime in July 1886, said William Henry Milligan came to the home of this petitioner in the County of Allegheny which was the last time the petitioner ever saw him, and from that day to this petitioner does not know what became of him and has never heard from him in any manner. That said George Washington Milligan, William Henry Milligan, Edward Milligan and your petitioner were all the children and heirs of said Robert Milligan and Mary Ann Milligan, their parents, who died as above stated and left no estate whatsoever. That on Dec. 8, 1895, said Edward Milligan a brother of said William Henry Milligan died in the said city of Allegheny and County of Allegheny intestate, unmarried and without issue and left personal estate to the value of about $827.54 which after payment of the debts of said decedent ad the costs of administration, will leave a balance for distribution among his heirs of about $600. That said decedent left no real estate whatever so far as known to Petitioner. That your Petitioner and said William Henry Milligan, if living, are the next of kin and heirs at law of said Edward Milligan, deceased. That your petitioner is the next of kin, the only living brother of said William Henry Milligan supposed to be dead, and is advised that he is entitled to receive letter of administration on the estate of said William Henry Milligan, supposed to be dead. Therefore the said Frank Milligan, petitioner named, respectfully applies for letters of administration upon the goods, chattels, rights and credits of which said William Henry Milligan died possessed. Petitioner therefore prays you, S. P. Conner, Register of Wills, ect., in and for the County of Allegheny, to forthwith certify this petition to the Orphan's Court of said Allegheny....
