All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Porter carolynporter1@aol.com October 4, 2008, 6:23 pm http://files.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/land/porter-porter1806.txt BOOK 8 PAGE 284 DEED ANDREW PORTER et uxor TO JOHN EWING PORTER DEED Westmoreland County Pennsylvania May 16, 1806 This Indenture made the sixteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and six Between Andrew Porter of the Township of Norriton in the County of Montgomery and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania gentleman and Elizabeth his wife of the one part and John Ewing Porter of the Borough of West Chester in the County of Chester and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania aforesaid Attorney at law of the other part Witnesseth that the said Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife as well for divers good and lawful considerations them thereunto moving as for and in Consideration of the sum of one dollar lawful money of the United States of America to them in hand paid by the said John Ewing Porter at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release convey and confirm unto the said John Ewing Porter his heirs and assigns all those three certain plantations or tracts of land one of them called Limestone situate on the East side of the Allegheny River known by a small improvement about one mile from Foremans claim in the County of Westmoreland in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania aforesaid Beginning at a post a corner of William Guffs land thence by the same South seventy degrees East three hundred perches to a post thence by Andrew Porters land South twenty degrees West one hundred and forty two perches to a marked white oak; thence by vacant hilly land North seventy degrees West three hundred perches to a marked dogwood and North twenty degrees East on hundred and forty two perches to the place of Beginning Containing two hundred and fifty one acres and thirty perches and allowance of six percent for roads. And another of the said tracts or plantations of land called Limestone meadow situate on the waters of Kiscomentas in said County of Westmoreland Beginning at a Dogwood thence by land of John Todd South seventy degrees East three hundred perches to a white oak thence by Andrew Porters land South twenty degrees West thirty five perches to a post thence by land vacant north seventy degrees West three hundred perches to a post thence North twenty degrees East thirty five perches to the first mentioned dogwood and place of beginning Containing sixty one acres and one hundred and one hundred and fifty four perches and like allowance aforesaid and the other of the said tracts or plantations of land called Betsey’s Delight situate on the waters of Kiscemeneta in the said County of Westmoreland Beginning at a post in a line of John Todds land thence by the same and vacant land South twenty degrees West three hundred and thirty one perches and a half to a marked white oak thence by vacant hilly land South fifty seven degrees East one hundred and fifty perches to a marked hickory North eight degrees West sixty four perches to a marked hickory North fifty five degrees East ninety perches to a marked white oak North one hundred and forty six perches to a marked hickory and North forty nine degrees East one hundred and two perches to a marked gum thence by William Todds land North sixty seven degrees West one hundred and sixty seven perches to the place of Beginning (Page 285) Containing two hundred and eighty five acres and allowance of six percent for roads .. with the appurtenances [being the same three plantations or tracts of land which the Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by two several Patents bearing date the seventh day of December in the year of our Lord MDCCLXXXI respectively duly inrolled in the Rolls Office for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Patent Book No 1 page 117 .. granted and conveyed unto the said Andrew Porter in fee simple] together with all and singular the buildings improvements rights members and appurtenances whatsoever to the said three tracts or plantations of land belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revisions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife of in to and out of the same To have and to hold the said three plantations or tracts of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said John Ewing Porter his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said John Ewing Porter his heirs and assigns forever and the said Andrew Porter and his heirs all and singular the premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said John Ewing Porter his heirs and assigns against him the said Andrw Porter and his heirs and against all and every person and persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by or from him or them or under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof they said parties to these presents have interchangeably set their hands and seals hereunto the day and year first above written. Sealed and delivered in the Andrew Porter Presence of us Elizabeth Porter Stephen Porter Benjn Markley The sixteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and six before me Benjn Markley Esqn one of the Associate Judges of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County Pennsylvania came the above named Andrew Porter and Elizabeth his wife in due form of law acknowledged the above written Indenture to be their act and deed and desired the same may be recorded as such the said Elizabeth thereunto voluntarily consented she being of full age separately and apart from her said husband by me thereon examined Witness my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid Benjamin Markley Received the day of the date of the above written Indenture of the above named John Ewing Porter the sum of one dollar lawful money of the United States of America in full of the Consideration money above mentioned.
