After mustering out at Fort Pitt, he later enlisted in the VA 7th under Capt Posey. Military pay records from troop muster rolls show him arriving at Valley Forge in April 1778 and being present in May and June of 1778. Attached muster roll record is for June 4th, 1778. It shows Edward as a Private on a 1-year enlistment and a monthly pay of 6 2/3 which is 6-pounds, 2-shillings, and 3-pence.
