The loss will amount to $1,500. A house next door owned by Mrs. BERNARD of Noblestown was damaged to the extent of about $200. The two men who lived in the building smelled smoke, and on going outside to investigate found the dwelling afire. The alarm was spread, but volunteer fire fighters could do nothing to save the dwelling and turned their attention to saving houses next to it. The GEORGE house was a frame two-story structure. Most of the furniture was saved. A keg of powder in the house exploded during the progress of the blaze and blew out one end of the building, but hurt no one.
