J. SWAN of Neelyton, Pa. held a family reunion near Gettysburg on Saturday, August 9th. Two sons and three daughters, seventeen grandchildren; all were present but two of the latter, Mr. J. I. SWAN of Detroit and Mr. Roy PETERSON of Spruce Creek, Pa. Five automobiles conveyed the guest to the beautiful home of on of the daughters which is seen (sic) miles north from Gettysburg and is surrounded by most beautiful scenery and flowers which grow in abundance. Mr. and Mrs. B. H. STITT have certainly a beautiful home and a most charming family, which consists of Mr. John and wife of Chester, Pa, Mr. Clarence, Master Ray and little Miss Ruth. The guests arrived near the dinner hour, when a most sumptuous repast was served in the spacious dining room which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Pictures were taken of various groups, causing much merriment among the older as well as the younger folk. Long hikes were freely indulged in, to enjoy nature's beautiful scenery. Time passed only too quickly. At five o'clock another elaborate meal was served, to which all did amply (sic) justice. Cars were brought and at seven o'clock our charming hosts were bidden farewell. Each and every one of us felt we had passed indeed a perfect day. Those present besides our hosts and family, were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. SWAN of Rennerdale, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. Alfred PETERSON, daughter Miss Mary and son Owen and wife, of Spruce Creek, their sons, Mr. Denton and wife, Mr. Harry and wife of Duquesne and Miss Mable, a student of Beckley's business college of Harrisburg; Mr. James W. STITT, wife and daughters Miss Ola and Lillian and Master Brady of Shippenburg, Pa., Dr. and Mrs. J. H. SWAN, daughter Helen and Master Rutherford and Hayes, of St. Thomas, Pa.
