Mr. Ackerman was a painter by trade and a veteran of World War I. From June 5, 1918, to March 31, 1919, he served in France as a private in Company M with the 149th Infantry. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rosella Ackerman, and a step daughter, Mrs. William Garris, of Bradenville. Also surviving are a brother, Edward, of McKeesport, and three sisters: Mrs. Elsie McClay, of McKeesport; Mrs. Marie Barner, of McKeesport: and Mrs. Myrtle Rahr, of East Liberty. Friends will be received at the Sibel Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning with the Rev. Harvey W. Black, pastor of the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport.
