Latrobe Advance Wed, Jan 30, 1889
On Saturday morning last, Ridge Beckwith, formerly of this place, died at the
home of his mother in Wilkinsburg, of heart failure, at the age of 34 years. Mr.
Beckwith was for a number of years one of the moat popular passenger conductors
on the P. R. R. and had many friends in Latrobe, where he spent many years of
his life. It is but a few months since this family were called on to give up the
beloved wife of Geo. N. Beckwith, and this second bereavement, coming suddenly
and unexpectedly, calls forth for them the heartfelt sympathy & their many
friends here. The deceased had been ill but a few days. The interment took place
on Monday at St. Clair cemetery, Greensburg.
