Mr BAILIFF suffered an attack of pneumonia early last summer, which turned to consumption, and he was taken to the hospital several weeks ago. He was in his 78th year. Mr BAILIFF came here from England about 50 years ago. He was the senior member of the firm of BAILIFF & BROWN, Federal street, plumbers, from a short time after his arrival in this country until his retirement from business in 1875. In this capacity he acquired a large business acquaintance not only in the two cities, but in the entire county. A brother lives in California, and a sister in Ontario, Canada. He leaves a wife and one son, A T BAILIFF, who resides at Undercliff. It is probable that Mr BAILIFF's remains will be cremated.
