from The Pittsburgh Press dated October 6 1888  (page 1):

DIED SUDDENLY - The wife of Thomas BRACKEN died suddenly at her
residence on the corner of Dixon and Thirty-third street this morning.
 The coroner will investigate.


from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:

Margaret BRACKEN, aged 56 years, married, died October 5 1888, heart
failure; born in Ireland; lived at corner of Thirty-third and Porter
in 13th Ward; interment in St Mary's Cemetery on October 8 1888.


NOTES:

>From census, children included Michael, Thomas, Edward, James, Mary
and Ellen.  Not certain all children survived to adulthood.
