All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/ ________________________________________________ JAMES BROKENBEK James Brokenbek, 52, of 1033 Lysle Ave., Port Vue, died today at 9 a.m. at McKeesport Hospital where he had been a patient for the last three weeks. He came to this country 40 years ago from Germany where he was born on March 8, 1891. His parents were the late Wenzel and Theresia Kraus Brokenbek, and he is survived by his wife, Edith Dell Brokenbek; five sons, James, of the U.S. Army stationed at Washington, D.C.; Howard, also in the Army, stationed somewhere in the Pacific; Duane, Herbert, and Homer, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Lewis Cohn, of McKeesport; Mrs. Marjorie Hinick, of Port Vue; and Irene, at home; six grandchildren; four brothers, Frank and John, of this city; Henry and William, of Duquesne; one sister, Mrs. Anna Herst, of Pittsburgh. Until four years ago when he became ill, Mr. Brokenbek had been employed as a roller in the Tin Mill. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and St. Mary's German Roman Catholic Church where funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. in charge of the Rev. W. C. Fromme. Interment is to be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home beginning tomorrow afternoon. McKeesport Daily News, May 13, 1943
