Taken from The Jewish Criterion, 13 Jan 1950, page 25, 

Caplan - Funeral services were held January 5 for Louis Caplan, 
who was a resident of this city for the past fifty years.  He
is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rebecca Goldfarb Caplan, and four 
daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Mellon of Detroit, Mrs. Samuel Leff, Mrs. 
Harry Seder and Mrs. Oscar Bruder, all of Pittsburgh; also four 
grandchildren.  Interment Beth Jacob Cemetery.  Services were held 
at Blank Brothers Funeral Home, Forbes Street at Craft Avenue
