OBITUARIES - PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE - SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2009

CARROLL, Charles F. "Charlie"
	Age 82; of Mt. Lebanon, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Beloved 
husband for 53 years of Yvonne (Burkett) Carroll; proud father of 
Charles (Susan), Paul (Kimberly), Timothy (Kimberly), Anne (Gary) 
Gamber, Martha (Jeffrey) Sherman, Amy (Paul) Ranalli, Kathryn 
Carroll and Jennifer (Erik) Endo; loving grandfather of seventeen; 
brother of Janet Brennan, Lois Beh and the late John Carroll. 
Charlie started his career as a newspaper reporter in Des Moines, 
IA and New York. He then worked 33 years in Public Relations for 
Westinghouse Electric Corporation until his retirement in 1992 
when he continued as a freelance writer. Charlie and Yvonne 
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005 on a trip 
to Ireland with all of their children and grandchildren. He 
loved to laugh and make others laugh with him. Friends and 
family will be welcomed at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 
Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of 
Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Thomas More Catholic 
Church, 126 Fort Couch Road, Monday morning at 10 o'clock. 
(Everyone Please Meet At Church). If desired, the family 
suggests memorials to Family Hospice and Palliative Care or St. 
Thomas More Family Life Center.
