All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/ ________________________________________________ Taken from McDonald Pa Outlook , 09 Jun 1921 Mrs. John COOPER, who was in her usual health, was suddenly called to her home beyond Friday evening, June 3, 1921 at 7:45 p.m. Mrs. COOPER, before marriage was Miss Sara ROLL, born March 28, 1926 at Clarion County. About 70 years ago she was united in marriage to John COOPER and for a time they resided at Pikes Furnace where Mr. COOPER was engaged in the milling business, his devoted life work. About 34 years ago they moved to Oakdale, Mr. COOPER dying 7 years ago or March 10, 1914 at the age of 93 and Mrs. COOPER at the age of who is survived (sic) by three daughters and one son as follows: Mrs. Elsie SHROADES, at home; Mrs. Mina TROUT, of Leechburg; Mrs. Lillian KING, of Kittanning, and A. F. COOPER of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Emily PERRY of DeMoines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Grandma COOPER will be sadly missed as she was a devoted mother and a friend to everyone and as her pastor expressed it, after a visit with one left feeling a benediction resting on them. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and before the year of age crept on her she was very faithful in her attendance. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 in her late home conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. D. LEWIS, assisted by Rev. W. R. MCMUNN. The music by Messrs. LASHER, WILT, Mrs. LASHER and Miss MCFARLAND. The interment was in the Oakdale cemetery where she was laid to rest among a bed of flowers by her neighbors, Messrs. BOVARD, SPEER, MCMURRAY, LASHER, WILT and FOX. At the grave Rev. LEWIS read "Crossing the Bar."
