L. SPEER attended the funeral of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret COPELAND of Dennison, Ohio. Mrs. COPELAND was 93 years of age and her death was due to a stroke of paralysis. Throughout her whole life her eyesight was in perfect condition, being able to see perfectly without the aid of glasses, but the result of the stroke was total blindness. In March, 1846 she was united in marriage to James COPELAND and to this union 13 children were born, 11 daughters and 2 sons, 7 daughters now living. Her husband passed away 23 years ago. Besides being the mother of 13 children she is survived by 32 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Being a lover of children she was not satisfied with raising her own children, but insisted on being a mother to nearly all her grandchildren. She was a firm believer in the Holy Bible and all its teachings and being a good Christian woman, she never forgot to pray each day for all her loved ones. She had led a Christian life, and was prepared for death, which came suddenly. She placed herself in the hands of the Almighty and was able to realize that death meant better prospects for her. She had been an invalid since 1914 when she sustained a broken hip in an accident and since that time has been confined to an invalid chair. In 1918 she suffered severe burns about her body as her clothing became ignited when she rocked on a match. Mrs. COPELAND had an accurate remembrance of her life form childhood days up until her death. Her health was good and she was in the best of spirits until she suffered the stroke. All the care and kindness that loving hands could give was bestowed on her in hopes that she might live to see her 100th birthday, but the master called and she answered. The body was laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery at Hopedale. *Oakdale column *Mrs. James MCFARLAND of Oakdale is a granddaughter.
