The entire community sympathizes with these friends in this their hour of bereavement. *Noblestown column *Another mention gives the parent's names as Mr. and Mrs. Thomas CRAVEN and the DOD as Oct. 25, 1918. ***************************************************************** Taken from McDonald Pa Outlook 07 Jun 1919 Corp. Daniel W. CRAVEN entered the Army October 6, 1917, and went across to the scene of conflict without having been permitted a furlough. He was born on the Richard CROOKS farm, July 2nd, 1893 and had lived with his parents until he entered the service. Corp. Daniel CRAVEN entered the Army October 6, 1917, and sailed for overseas in April, 1918 without being permitted to get home on a furlough to see his parents. He was a young man 26 years of age, of high moral character and an exemplary member of the Noblestown United Presbyterian church. When 16 years of age he united with the church and all the years and in his army career he was true to his profession, living a clean, pure and useful life. He was interested in the Bible class in the camps and faithful in the opportunities that came to attend religious services, often quoting texts used. he made the supreme sacrifice October 25, 1918, being in Company B, Sixth Engineers. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas CRAVEN, and family are faithful members of the Noblestown United Presbyterian congregation. Daniel will be missed in the home, the church and the community, but "to depart and be with Christ is far better." *A photo was included, but the reproduction is rather poor
