These were two of the victims of that accident. ** from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Monday, October 11, 1880 (page 1): Milton H EDWARDS was the son of Hon. Matthew EDWARDS, and resided with his father at the East End. He was sixteen years of age, and still in attendance at school. He was a bright promising boy. He died yesterday of his injuries - chiefly the result of scalding. (...) Mr BOLLINGER was about thirty-five years old and unmarried. He was a carpenter by trade, and resided in the East End. He was on his way home from work when he was killed. A pocket rule was found in his pocket. He was sitting in the car with his dinner basket in his hands and some tools. He died almost instantly, it is thought. Funeral from his parent's residence, Lincoln avenue, Twenty-first ward, on Tuesday, October 12th, 1880, at 10 o'clock am. from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Tuesday, October 12, 1880 (page 4): This morning at ten o'clock, Milton H EDWARDS, son of Hon. Matthew EDWARDS, who was one of the victims, will be buried. The funeral will take place from his parents' residence on Lincoln avenue in the East End. Mr EDWARDS was a very promising young man and his funeral will be attended by scores of friends, among whom will be quite a number of his class mates at the Central High School. from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Wednesday, October 13, 1880 (page 4): The funeral of Milton H EDWARDS, the youthful son of Hon Matthew EDWARDS, of the Twenty-first ward, East End, also took place yesterday morning. A special car containing the pupils and classmates of the deceased, attending the Pittsburgh High School, went out on the Wilkinsburg accommodation train for the purpose of attending the funeral. The pall bearers were selected from young EDWARDS late class mates, and the exercises were of the most touching nature. The body followed by a large cortege was interred in the Allegheny cemetery. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: David BOLLINGER, age 30 years, married, carpenter, died October 10, 1880; born in Allegheny County; lived in 21st Ward; burial in a Lincoln Avenue cemetery on October 11, 1880. (Norm Meinert's site notes that a David BOLLINGER with this approx death date is buried in St Peters Lutheran Cemetery. 1880 Census notes wife's name is Anna.) Milton Howard EDWARDS, age 17 years, single, student, died October 10, 1880; son of Matthew and Mary EDWARDS; born in Pittsburgh; lived on Lincoln Avenue; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on October 12, 1880.
