We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ADAM ESCHMAN Adam Eschman, aged 61 years, died yesterday from pneumonia at the residence of his brother George Eschman, 54 Penn Street, Sharpsburg. He was born in Old Allegheny and went to Sharpsburg in early boyhood, spending the rest of his life there. He was a close friend of James Sharp, a pioneer settler, after whom the borough was named. He was engaged all his life in the tobacco trade with his brother George. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Sharpsburg. Surviving are his widow Honora Eschman, and five children. Eschman, 88, 169 Logan NE, a retired Grinnell employee, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs Thomas Shellenberger, 1641 Bryn Mawr Rd., East Cleveland. Mr. Eschman had been in failing health for the past nine months. Born June 4, 1864, in Sharpsburg, Pa., he was a member of St. Mary's Church, Holy Name Society and Knights of St. George Lodge. His wife, the former Mary Anna Schaedelbauer preceeded him in death. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry Bardy, Leavittsburg; Mrs Thomas Shellenberger and Miss Pauline Eschman, Columbus; two sons, Leo E. and Charles H., both of Warren; two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Schmidt, Warren, and Mrs Henry Lutz, Leavittsburg; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Eschman, aged 84 years, widow of the late Jacob Eschman, highly esteemed resident of Warren, Oh., passed away at her residence, No. 38 Third Street, Thursday evening at 9:20, her death following a short illness with infirmities attendant upon age. In the passage of Mrs. Eschman the city loses one of its oldest residents. For many years the Eschman family owned the farm which was purchased by the Warren Board of Trade, which became the site of the Trumbull Steel mill. She was born in Pittsburgh on November 29, 1839, and came to Warren with her family twenty years ago. She was a member of the Catholic church all her life and since coming to Warren has been a devoted member and attendant in St. Mary's church. She was a woman of broad personality and made a host of friends in her neighborhood. She is survived by four sons, Joseph, Jacob, George and John Eschman, of Warren; Mrs. George Zerr of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Joseph Schmitt and Mrs. Henry Lutz, Warren; eighteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. ESCHMAN Mrs. Mary Anna ESCHMAN, 71, wife of Joseph ESCHMAN, died Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at her home, 260 First SW, Warren, Oh., death following an 8 weeks illness of complications. Mrs. ESCHMAN was born in Germany, but came to America 67 years ago, living at Pittsburgh, and 41 years ago she came to Warren to make her home. She was married 51 years ago to Mr. ESCHMAN and last year the family held a golden wedding celebration for their parents. She was the daughter of John and Mary Krause Schadlhauer. (Schaedelbauer) During her entire life in Warren Mrs. ESCHMAN was a faithful member of St. Mary's parish and of the Altar and Rosary and Christian Mothers society. She was also an active member of Trumbull Review of the Woman's Benefit Associate, now being the immediate past president of that lodge. She was a good neighbor and enjoyed a large circle of friends. Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Laura DAUGHERTY BARDY, of Leavittsburg; Mrs. Marie SHELLENBERGER, of East Cleveland and Miss Pauline ESCHMAN, at home; two sons, Leo and Charles of Warren; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, in St. Mary's church, and burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery. The body is at the Gillen Funeral Home where friends may call at any time. E-Mail: lhodges@ivprog.com ========================================================================== GEORGE ESCHMAN George ESCHMAN, 73, died at his residence, 245 Third SW, at 2:30 p.m., Thursday afternoon. He had been ill for six weeks and death was caused by complications. Born in Sharpsburg, Pa., Jan 19, 1873, the son of Jacob and Anna STOEBE ESCHMAN, he had resided in Warren, Oh., since 1902. The Family owned a farm on Pine SW. Their house was located on the present site of the Republic Steel office. He was employed by the General Fire Extinguisher Company, which is now the Grinnell Company. He worked there 34 years before retiring nine years ago. Twenty-two years ago he married the former Cecilia NOULLETT, who survives. Mr. ESCHMAN was a member of St. Mary's church and the Holy Name Society. Also surviving are three brothers, Joseph, Jacob and John ESCHMAN, all of Warren; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry LUTZ and Mrs. Joseph SCHMITT, both of Warren. The body is at the Gillen Funeral Home, where friends may call at anytime. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Saturday night, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's church. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. ========================================================================== GEORGE ESHMAN George Eshman aged 75, a pioneer resident of Sharpsburg, is dead at his late residence, 50 Penn St., Sharpsburg, after a lingering illness. Mr. Eshman conducted a cigar manufacturing business in Sharpsburg for many years and was one of the oldest residents of the borough. He was a son of Nicholas Eshman, a contemporary of James Sharp, after whom the borough was named. Mr. Eshman is survived by his widow, Mrs. Christina (1)Forster (2)Eshman, (nee Gemmel) four sons, George, John, Nicholas and Joseph Eshman, all of Sharpsburg, one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Richie, of Lawrenceville; and one sister Mrs. Philomena Snyder, of Sharpsburg. He was born in Sharpsburg. During his early life, he was engaged in the tobacco business with his brothers George and Adam. Later he engaged in the hotel business at Glenshaw and after conducting a hotel there for a time, returned to Sharpsburg and reentered the tobacco business. Untill a month ago he was employed as night sergeant in the Sharpsburg police station. He was a member of the Knights of St. George and of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sharpsburg.
