from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Thursday, May 3, 1888 (page 7):
 
FAGAN - On Wednesday morning at 3:30 at Mercy Hospital, James FAGAN,
in the 65th year of his age. Funeral from the residence of his
daughter, No. 8 Marion st, today at 3 o'clock. Friends of the family
are respectfully invited to attend.
 
from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:
 
James FAGAN, aged 51 years, married, pumper, died May 2, 1888,
pneumonitis; born in Ireland; lived at 7th Avenue and Grant Street;
burial in St Mary's Cemetery on May 3, 1888; record notes that he had
been admitted to Mercy Hospital.
 
NOTES: Census suggests that wife is Margaret with children Catherine,
Margaret, Elizabeth, Bernard, and Alice.
