STATE NOTES.

  Daniel Fahey, Assistant Engineer in Anderson & Co.'s steel mill, 
Pittsburgh, met a horrible death on Saturday.  He was oiling machinery, 
and, being caught in the belting, was drawn down into the pit and 
squeezed between the driving wheel and the bottom of the pit, the space 
not being more than eight inches.  He was literally disemboweled, and 
lived but a few moments after the accident.
