All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/ ________________________________________________ from The Pittsburgh Press dated Friday, April 24, 1896 (page 12): William FELLOWS, aged 18 years, whose parents live on Lenora street, was fatally injured by a freight engine on the Pennsylvania railroad at the East Liberty stock yards. from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Friday, April 24, 1896 (page 2): William FELLOWS, 18 years old, died at the West Penn Hospital last evening from injuries received on the Pennsylvania railroad. He was on his way to the East Liberty stock yards and in attempting to cross the tracks at the foot of Lambert street was caught by a freight train and had his left leg cut off. He was sent to the hospital at once but the shock proved too much for him. The body was sent to the morgue and his parents notified at their home on Lenora street. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: William C FELLER, age 17 years 10 months, single, carpenter, died April 23, 1896, killed on PRR; son of William and Frederica FELLER (both of Germany); born in Germany; lived at 603 Lenora Street; burial in German Lutheran Cemetery on April 26, 1896. City directories and census listings have the surname as FELLER.
