All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/ ________________________________________________ Taken from McDonald Pa Outlook 04 May 1922 Mrs. Sara Ann FEREDAY, wife of Benjamin FEREDAY, aged 76 years, died at the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh Sunday morning at 6:20 o'clock, as a result of burns received Saturday afternoon at 1:20 o'clock. Mrs. FEREDAY was cleaning portiers with gasoline which ignited from a lighted stove in an adjoining room. Neighbors rushed to assist but before the flames could be extinguished she was so badly burned that little hope was entertained for her recovery. Medical aid was summoned and she was rushed to the hospital. Mrs. FEREDAY was born in Wales and came to this country 63 years ago. She was twice married, her second marriage being with Mr. FEREDAY in 1912. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin FEREDAY; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie FORSYTH of Sharpsburg and Mrs. Ruth ARNOLD of Ellwood City; three step-daughters, Mrs. C. RIDDER of Steubenville, O., Mrs. Robert FENWICK, Sr. and Mrs. Joseph MCGEE of Sturgeon and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at her home in the South Side, Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock in charge of Rev. W. D. IRONS, D. D., pastor of the first United Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. J. H. DEBOLT, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. The body was taken to Sharpsburg Wednesday where services were held in the Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was in the Mt. Royal cemetery at Sharpsburg.
