Deceased was a clerk in Spai--, Chalfant & co's mill, was twenty-one years of age and single. from The Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette dated Tuesday, July 10, 1883 (page 6): Killed Boarding a Train Sharpsburg, Pa., July 9 - The body of W M FITZSIMMONS was found this morning on the Allegheny Valley railroad track at Haights Run. It is supposed he was killed while trying to jump on a train. He was on his way home to Sharpsburg from a visit to his sweetheart, Sadie CANE, residing near the Water Works. He was a clerk at the store of the Etna Iron Works, at Etna. His remains will be taken to his home near Saxonburg. from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records: William FITZSIMMONS, aged 22 years, single, clerk, died July 8, 1883, killed on the AVRR near Hights Station, 18th Ward; born in Butler Co PA; lived in Etna Borough; burial in a Butler Co PA cemetery. Butler area obit index IDs him with last name of FITZSIMMON and naming his parents as William FITZSIMMON and Elizabeth GRAHAM.
