Carrie W FOX, wife of William FOX, of Shaler township, died at her
residence, Sample farm, Wednesday evening in the 37th year of her age.
 The funeral will be held at the Sample farm tomorrow at 2 o'clock.

from The Pittsburgh Press dated Friday, July 13 1888  (page 8):

FOX - Carrie M, beloved wife of Wm FOX, on Wednesday evening at 9:40
o'clock, in the 37th year of her age.  Funeral will take place from
her late residence, Sample farm, Shaler township, on Saturday, July 14
at 2 o'clock.  Friends of family invited.

NOTES:
>From 1880 census, she is listed as Caroline with children Edward, Emma
and Carrie R.  There may have been a daughter Blanch born after 1880.
Her parents' birthplace is noted as Saxony.
