James A. Gmuer, age 84, died peacefully on January 5, 2012, formerly of Hampton
Twp. Beloved husband of Helen Rausch for 61 years; devoted father of Jeffrey
(Catherine) Gmuer; proud grandfather of Erica and Aimee Gmuer; preceded in death
by infant son, Kip Gmuer and parents, Anthony and Mildred Gmuer, and sister,
Jayne Gmuer. Survived by sister-in-law, Nancy Spangler (Ed) and nephews, Ed,
Greg, and Dennis. Mr. Gmuer enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served on
the aircraft carrier F.D. Roosevelt in WW II. He was also a former employee of
the Hampton School District. Visitation Sun. 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. NEELY FUNERAL
HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Service Mon. 11:00 a.m., followed by
burial at Allegheny County Memorial Park with full military honors. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to Parkwood United Presbyterian Church, 4289 Mt.
Royal Blvd., Allison Park, PA 15101.
