Pittsburgh Press , August 11, 1926  
August Gartner, aged 68, of 3045 Mt. Troy Rd., died yesterday. He was born in 
Germany and came to Pittsburgh in 1880 and started in the brick contracting 
business. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic church, Reserve township. 
Besides his widow, Mrs. Hildegard Schadd Gartner, he leaves four sons: August 
Gartner Jr., at home. Thomas E. and Joseph C. of Pittsburgh and Raymond J. 
Gartner of Minerva, Ohio; two daughters, Flora M. Gartner at home, and Mrs. 
Mary S. Stehle. Services will be held at 9 a. m. Friday.

Note:  August's age is incorrectly listed--he was 69 when he died.
