The funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. C. M. RITCHIE of Noblestown. Interment was in the Oakdale cemetery. The pallbearers were members of the McAbees (sic) and the Home Guards. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of the community in their sorrow. *Oakdale column ********************************************************************** Taken from McDonald Pa Outlook 04 Sep 1919 On Friday, August 22, 1919, occurred the death of Mr. Thomas GREENFIELD, after a long suffering illness of one year, caused by cancer of the stomach. Mr. GREENFIELD was born in Readsburg, Pa., Clarion County, October 23, 1855. In Butler, December 24, 1891, he was united in marriage to Miss Noah FAIR of Butler, Pa., and to this union were born four daughters and one son. After his marriage he moved to Semple Station, later to McDonald and then to Oakdale, and finally to the country, about two miles north of Oakdale, where he has lived for the past ten years. In the early part of his life he followed the oil business, he also spent one year in the gold fields of California and during the past ten years has been engaged in fruit growing. Mr. GREENFIELD has been a citizen of Oakdale and vicinity for the past 26 years; was a member of the Knights of Maccabees and the Home Guards of America. His widow and four daughters, Marietta, Averil and Elizabeth at home, Mrs. Myrtle UFFLEMAN of Imperial and one son, Roy, at home, a member of the 319 Inf. and recently returned form overseas, and one sister, Mrs. E. J. BARGER of Columbus, O., are left to mourn his loss. The funeral services conducted by Rev. RITCHIE, pastor of the Noblestown United Presbyterian church, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the Oakdale cemetery.
