(Pittsburgh, Pa.): March 30, 1864 Died at her residence in Lawrenceville, Thursday evening, November 11th, 1863, Mrs. Statira B. Hatch, wife of Ebenezer Hatch, aged 79 years and 11 months… She was a native of the State of Maine, from which she emigrated with her husband, to Pittsburgh, in 1813, when it required six weeks to make the journey. Descended from the early “Pilgrim Fathers," she exhibited all their energy, perseverance, and untiring zeal in the varied and constant occupation of her willing hands, either for her own family or the needy around her... Her aged and sorrowing partner, with whom she spent nearly sixty years of her earthly pilgrimage, still survives, just waiting for the summons. He, with her two daughters and three sons, and grand-children, followed her remains to their resting place in Allegheny Cemetery, to await the resurrection morning, in hope of a glorious reunion.
