H. Hugus, son of the late William Hugus and nephew of the late Daniel Hugus, of the firm of Hugus & Hacke, died suddenly at Wilkesbarre yesterday. A telegram was received yesterday by his cousin, Paul Hacke, announcing the death of Mr. Hugus. It was entirely unexpected, as no intimation of his illness had been received by his relatives and friends in this city. Mr. Hugus was a native Pittsburger and was a frequent visitor to the city since he took up his residence in Wilkesbarre about 10or 12 years ago. He was in Pittsburg last week, and appeared to be in perfect health, and the news of his death yesterday was a great shock to many. Mr. Hugus was about 47 years of age, and was well known to the younger business men of Pittsburg. He was formerly interested in the Liggett spring and axle company, Allegheny, and at the time of his death was interested in the Wilkesbarre spring and axle works. His wife was Nettie Liggett, whom he married about 20 years ago. He is survived by his widow and three sons. One child died within a year and was buried in the Hugus family plot in the Allegheny cemetery, and it was thought that the remains of Mr. Hugus would be buried in this city. A telegram received by Mr. Macke last night states, however, that the funeral will take place in Wilkesbarre Friday at 2 p. m., and the interment will be in Wilkesbarre.
