Mrs HANEY was born in Adams county and was brought to Pittsburg by her parents when she was a child. Twenty-three years ago she moved to Braddock and had lived in that vicinity since. Mrs HANEY was married twice. In 1848, she married James DUNHAM, who died in 1867, a few months after returning from the Civil War. In 1871, she married Jacob HANEY, a puddler in the Pittsburg mills, who died in 1899. Mrs HANEY was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church. She is survived by the following children: Mrs E E HOE of Rankin, Mrs John GARROW of Mt Washington, Mrs Sue ALLEN of Pittsburg, Harry HANEY of Homeville, and Oliver HANEY of North Braddock. A sister, Mrs Ferdinand HUMMEL of Mars, 23 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren also survive. from The Pittsburgh Gazette Times dated Sunday, October 5, 1913 (page Fourth Section, Page 6): Mrs Margaret WAREHAM-HANEY, aged 81, a resident of Pittsburgh for 60 years, and of Braddock for a long time, died at the family home, 110 Patterson avenue, Rankin, yesterday. Mrs HANEY was born in Adams county, Pa., a daughter of Mr and Mrs John WIREHAM. Her parents removed to Pittsburgh when she was three or four years old. Her father was a merchant in the First Ward, this city, for years. She was married in 1852 to James DUNHAM, a native of East Wareham, Mass., who served throughout the Civil War. He was stationed for a time at Camp Copeland, now the Fourth Ward, Braddock, then used as a recruiting station. While there he contracted lung trouble and died in 1867, although he served out his term of enlistment. Mrs DUNHAM was married in 1871 to her second husband, Jacob HANEY, a native Pittsburgher, who had charge for many years of the puddling mills of the Oliver Brothers plants; of the Chess Company for some time, and also at the old Painter mills. Mrs HANEY was a charter member of the Trinity English Lutheran Church, Braddock, and was active in its work until the past spring, when she suffered a nervous breakdown. She took deep interest in the Braddock General Hospital, as well as other philanthropic matters. She leaves three daughters and two sons, Mrs E E HOE of Rankin, Mrs Ida GARROW of Wyoming avenue, Mt Washington, Mrs Sue ALLEN of Wabash avenue, Harry HANEY of Homeville, and Oliver HANEY, a mail carrier of North Braddock; also a sister, Mrs Ferdinand HUMMEL of Mars, Pa, and 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. NOTES: The Allegheny Cemetery site notes the burials of Jacob and Margaret in Section 36, Lot 404. Jacob HANEY's first wife is Caroline PATTERSON, daughter of John and Elizabeth PATTERSON, who died in December, 1868. Three of his surviving sons as noted above were by Caroline: J A, William, and George T; two were by Margaret: Harry W and James Oliver. I can not confirm the daughters, although one might be named Annie. Margaret's children by James DUNHAM included Mary, Alwilda, Elizabeth (Mrs HOE), Ida (Mrs GARROW), and Susan (Mrs ALLEN). It is possible that Margaret's daughter Mary married Jacob's son William. Can not confirm Margaret's birth name of WAREHAM. The surviving sister appears to be Harriet HOMMEL.
