from The Pittsburgh Gazette dated Monday, June 3, 1895:
 
HAYS - On Saturday, June 1, 1895 at 7:20 am, at the residence of 
his mother, Mrs J L MICHELS, Carrick P O, Brownsville road, Charles 
W HAYS, grandson of the late Abijah HAYS, Jr, aged 35 years, 5 
months.  Services at the residence of his mother on Sunday afternoon 
at _ o'clock.  Funeral on this afternoon from Miller Bros. & Co.'s 
chapel at 2 o'clock.  Interment private.
