Richard G. Herron, in his 60th year. Funeral services at his late residence, 5423 Howe st., this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment private. THE DEATH ROLL Col. R. G. Herron Col. Richard G. Herron died Saturday morning at his residence, 5433 Howe street, East End. He had only been ill since Thursday. Col. Herron was born in Pittsburgh sixty years ago. His father was one of the pioneers of Pittsburgh, and at one time owned the whole Thirteenth ward. Herron hill and Ft. Herron are both named for the family. Col. Herron early in life learned the drug business and followed it for many years. He was also a heavy stockholder in the Wylie avenue street car line, and before it was bought by the Central Traction Company was its president. He represented the Thirteenth ward in select council for many years. He joined the army at the beginning of the late war and by good work on the field rose to the rank of colonel. Colonel Herron’s wife died three years ago, but his three daughters and one son, Dr. Richard G. Herron, survive him. The funeral will take place from the family residence this afternoon.
