The young man was fatally injured late yesterday afternoon in the butt weld department of the National Tube Works where he was employed as a machinist. Young Hite died soon after being admitted to the McKeesport Hospital. His injuries consisted of a terribly crushed chest and serious bruises all over the body. A number of bones were broken. Hite was at work about a machine in the mill and in endeavoring to throw a belt onto a pulley his clothing was caught and he was whirled rapidly about the shafting. He was thrown with terrible force against some cog wheels, striking his chest. He was picked up in an unconscious condition by some of his fellow workmen and taken to the patrol station until the arrival of the hospital ambulance. Nothing could be done for the young man who died a few minutes after being admitted to the hospital. The coroner's verdict was accidental death. The dead youth was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hite of 1215 Locust Street, where the remains have been removed. He was a popular young man and his untimely death is a sad blow to his family and friends. The funeral will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. from St. Peter's Catholic Church. The interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
