from The Pittsburgh Press dated Wednesday, March 21, 1900 (page 10):
 
Andrew H HOLMES, 80 years old, engaged many years ago in the iron and
steel business in the Penn avenue district, under the firm name of
HOLMES Bros., died Monday at the family residence, 4421 Davidson
street. He was born in Pittsburg and for a number of years lived on
Mt Washington, where he was a member of the Mt Washington Presbyterian
church. For twenty years the family has lived at 4421 Davidson
street. He is survived by four children.

Andrew Hiram HOLMES, aged 80 years 1 month 17 days, widower, died on
March 19, 1900, cerebral emboli; son of Enoch and Susan HOLMES; born
in PA; lived at 4421 Davidson Street; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on
March 21, 1900.
 
Census records show wife Levina with children Susana, George, Emma,
