The accident occurred at 5:40 am and the victim died about four hours later. HUNTER was a freight conductor and was engaged in coupling cars when he fell and was run over. Both his legs and his left arm were so badly crushed that the hospital authorities found it necessary to amputate them. He died shortly after the operation had been finished. HUNTER was 33 years old and married. He resided on Stanton avenue, Millvale. The body was removed to the morgue and the coroner notified. from the Allegheny City Death Records: Addison W HUNTER, age 33 years, married, conductor, died June 22, 1897, from injuries on the P & W Railroad; son of J D and Ellen HUNTER; born in Armstrong County PA; lived in Millvale; burial in an East Brady PA cemetery on June 25, 1897. A check of census records suggests that his wife was Etta (or Rosetta) with children Charles and Addison.
