Mr. JAMISON was the eldest son of Mr. Francis JAMISON, who for many years prior to his death lived on the farm, on which is now the village of Sturgeon. Mr. John W. JAMISON, the deceased, was a shoemaker by trade, and for a number of years plied his trade also, at the now Sturgeon, village. On February 11, 1845 he was united in marriage with Miss Rebecca KELSO. To them six children were born, of whom four are yet living; George in St. Louis, Frank in Moline, Illinois; Robert in Fresno, California, and Miss Nannie at the late home of the deceased, 1016 Scott St. Davenport, Iowa. Mrs. A. J. CUBBAGE was a sister of the deceased, Mrs. Alice STEWART, of Homestead, Pa., is a half sister, and the only one of eleven children now living. The deceased moved to Davenport, Iowa in 1855, and resided there continuously until his demise. Mr. JAMISON was a member of the Masonic bodies and for many years had charge of the temple at Davenport. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Congregation at Davenport.
