from The Pittsburgh Press dated Wednesday, November 6 1889 (page 4):

Mrs Susan R JOHNSTON, a highly respected inmate of the Protestant Home
for Incurables, died yesterday in the 66th year of her age.  The
funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at the home.

from The Pittsburg Dispatch dated Wednesday, November 6 1889  (page 2):

During the month one death occurred, that of Mrs JOHNSTON, who had
been an inmate of the Home since the beginning.


from the City of Pittsburgh Death Records:

Susan R JOHNSTON, aged 66 years, widow, died November 5 1889, acute
bronchitis; born in PA; parents of Ireland; lived at the Home for
Incurables, 18th Ward; burial in Allegheny Cemetery on November 7
1889.

The Home opened in 1885.  Other death notices show name as Susan R JOHNSON.
