The girl lived at the Drovers' home, corner Liberty and Twenty-eighth streets. She was taken suddenly ill yesterday evening with cholera morbus and Dr J N McCready summoned. The physician prescribed for the girl and directed her to take a teaspoon full of the medicine at certain intervals. Instead of following the directions the girl took the entire bottle full of the medicine at once and death resulted. The doctor says the medicine was very strong, as there was a great deal of morphine in it to relieve her pain. He thinks she was momentarily insane, and took the contents of the bottle in one of those moments. from The Pittsburgh Press dated Sunday, June 30 1889 (page 2): Coroner McDowell, yesterday afternoon, held an inquest in the case of Eva KREGER, who died suddenly at the Drovers' Home, corner Liberty and Twenty-eighth streets.
