OBITUARIES - PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE - SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2009

LaBELLA. Joseph R.
	Formerly of East Liberty on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 
age 79. Beloved husband of Ida (Sebastian) LaBella; father of 
Valerie M. LaBella, Esq. and Joseph M. LaBella; brother of 
John LaBella (Geraldine); Son of the late Joseph and Carmella 
LaBella; Uncle of Mark LaBella (Lizann), John LaBella (Margaret) 
and Michael LaBella (Gemma); great-uncle to 2 great-nieces and 
one great-nephew; dear family friend of Arlie Burke; also 
survived by canine companion Riley. Joe was a well-known 
commercial painting contractor. Some of his clients included 
the Federal Building, Bell Telephone, Monroeville Mall, USS 
Edgar Thompson Works, National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 
the O'Reilly Theater, UPMC Shadyside and UPMC Presbyterian 
Hospitals, as well as the universities of Pitt, Duquesne and 
Carnegie Mellon. Joe served his country during the Korean 
War as an Army Paratrouper. He was a long time member of 
the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. Friends received at 
McCABE BROS., INC. FUNERAL HOMES, 6214 Walnut Street, 
Shadyside on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where 
Funeral will commence on Monday at 9 am, followed by Mass 
of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church at 10 am. In 
lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Mesothelioma 
Applied Research Foundation, P.O. Box 91840 Santa Barbara, CA 
93190-1840 or Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh
