All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/allegheny/ ________________________________________________ Taken from McDonald Pa Outlook 17 Jan 1924 On Friday morning, January 18, 1924 at 1:10 o'clock, Miss Mary Matilda LAND passed away at the home of her brother, Squire George LAND of West State street, Oakdale, after being an invalid for the past twenty-five years. She was born in Canonsburg, Pa., May 21, 1837. She was a daughter of the late George and Phoebe M. LAND of Canonsburg. For the past forty years she has been a resident of this county and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Miss LAND received her education in the Canonsburg schools. She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Clara V. EVANS, wife of W. J. EVANS of Oakdale, and one brother, George LAND, with whom she lived. Services were held on Sabbath afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. W. R. MCMUNN. Interment was in the Oakdale cemetery. Miss LAND's six nephews acted as pallbearers. They were George R., Robert E., Carence M. (sic), Charles W. and William R. LAND and Morris W. EVANS.
